BMW has only recently introduced the new 1 Series M Coupe and already aftermarket tuning companies are lining up to modify it. The new 1 Series M Coupe has been called the spiritual successor to the original E30 BMW M3, and Kelleners Sport has taken steps to make the car compete with the current M3 model. The new tuning package is the first of its kind for the new BMW model, and equips it with more power, better aerodynamics, and forged wheels.
The new M-model from BMW is the most powerful 1-Series made to-date. It features a twin-turbocharged inline six cylinder engine that sends 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque to the rear BMW wheels through a proper six-speed manual transmission. This rockets the coupe to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and through the quarter mile in just 13.2 seconds. But, for some owners this just wasn’t fast enough, so Kelleners Sport has developed new engine upgrades for the 3.0 liter inline six. A new KS Power SW 35M upgrade package was installed along with a stainless steel 83 mm quad exhaust system. The upgrades resulted in a total of 410 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. of torque; a significant increase over the stock specifications. bmw style wheels
The added power created by the KS Power SW 35M upgrade package required Kelleners Sport to install new forged wheels and suspension components. Kelleners Sport can install new forged wheels instead of the stock BMW wheels in two designs; Berlin or Hamburg. Each wheel design is stronger than the stock rims because of their forged construction. Helping the upgraded forged wheels make better contact with the road are 245/30 front and 265/30 rear performance tires. In addition to the new 1 Series M Coupe BMW wheels and tires, the German tuner has also fitted an adjustable suspension. The new suspension allows drivers to adjust height, compression, and rebound in order to optimize the setup for a specific track or road.
The increased engine power means that the 1 Series M Coupe will be faster than the stock model. So, Kelleners Sport designed a new aerodynamic body kit to ensure enough downforce is created to keep the car planted to the road. The front features a new MS spoiler lip and three-part electro-polished stainless steel grille insert. To create a unique aesthetic, new decorative stripes were added to the hood, side mirrors, and side sills.
The interior of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe was upgraded along with the rest of the sports car. The seats, dashboard, and doors were outfitted with new perforated leather with contrasting white stitching and accents. Alcantara was used on the steering wheel, shift lever, and handbrake for better grip. The overall driving experience is improved with a new set of aluminum pedals and velour floor mats.
